Acquisition of Information from Third Parties
Other companies and affiliated partners (including but not limited to DMP providers, advertising agencies, research and analysis firms, media companies, database management companies, etc) may obtain user browsing history, service usage history, location information, etc. from third parties. They may use this information, linked with personal information about users, for the purposes described in “2. 5. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not disclose personal information to third parties (including those located outside Japan) without obtaining prior consent from the customer, except in the following cases:
- When it is necessary to outsource all or part of the handling of information to fulfill the intended purposes.
- In the event of mergers or other reasons related to the succession of business.
- When information is provided to partners or information collection providers in accordance with the provisions of Article 4.
- When it is necessary to cooperate with national agencies, local governments, or their delegated parties in performing duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the customer’s consent may hinder the performance of such duties.
- In cases where it is otherwise permitted by the Data Privacy Protection Law or other applicable laws and regulations.
6. Disclosure of Personal Information
Upon request from the customer in accordance with the provisions of the Data Privacy Protection Law, we will disclose the requested personal information after confirming the authenticity of the request (the customer will be notified if the requested personal information does not exist.) However, this does not apply if we are not obligated to disclose the personal information under other laws or regulations. Please note that a handling fee of ¥1,100 per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
7. Correction and Suspension of Personal Information Use
7-1. If a request is received from a customer for correction of their personal information based on the provisions of the Data Privacy Protection Law due to (1) inaccurate information, (2) unauthorized use beyond the stated purpose, or collected through false or other fraudulent means, we will conduct necessary investigations upon confirming the authenticity of the request. The customer will be informed of any changes made or if we decide not to proceed with correction or suspension.
7-2. If a request is received from a customer for deletion of their personal information and it is determined that it is necessary to comply, it will be deleted upon confirming the authenticity of the request.
7-3. The provisions of 7-1 and 7-2 do not apply if we are not obligated to correct, suspend use, or delete personal information under the Data Privacy Protection Law or other applicable laws and regulations.
